We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Theatre Technician to join our existing professional team of full and part-time staff at The Elgiva.
Hours will include evenings and weekends, but our team is flexible and we can accommodate working hours based around your personal commitments.
The Elgiva is at the heart of Chesham’s community and features a 300 seated raked auditorium.
Our busy venue hosts a varied mix of professional and amateur events including music, drama, comedy and dance. Our packed programme features something nearly every night of the year, ranging from small local drama groups to national commercial promoters, who find The Elgiva a thriving, successful venue with loyal and supportive audiences.
We also run a highly-successful pantomime show over Christmas and a programme of weekly daytime classes and activities.
As a Casual Theatre Technician, you will:
- Work as part of the Theatre Technical Team providing technical and front of house services for The Elgiva.
- Be responsible for the lighting and sound design including the rigging and focusing of lights.
- Set up of theatre equipment including stage sets, PA systems, and ICT equipment for events.
- Ensure suitable Health & Safety risk assessments are conducted and recorded.
You will have previous technical experience of working in a theatrical or venue environment, be able work on your own initiative and be an excellent communicator.
You will also be able to work at height, and due to the nature of the role, be able to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
Hourly rate £9.93 per hour (casual)
