
Theatre Technician
37 hours per week
Salary of £22,369 plus £637 fringe allowance per annum

Located in Chesham, 28 miles north-west of London and owned and managed by Chesham Town Council, The Elgiva is a busy, vibrant theatre with a varied programme of live and screened events.
We are looking for someone to join our technical team to provide the technical support the wide-ranging programme needs. To do this, you will have worked in live performance venues and have experience in operating theatre lighting, sound and projection equipment. You will also have a good working knowledge of health and safety as it relates to technical theatre.
The ideal candidate will have:
A good understanding of theatre lighting, sound, stage management and projection
An ability to use own initiative and problem solve
An ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and in person, with hirers, promoters and theatre staff and volunteers
An ability to use MS Office products, as well as other sound, lighting and projection applications
Commitment, enthusiasm and self-motivation, and will demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanour
The ability to work independently or as part of a team
The ability to work unsociable hours
- The ability to work at height
You will be an organised all-rounder, competent in theatre sound, lighting, stage craft and projection. A team player. you will also work well on your own. As the first point of contact for incoming companies you will be confident, flexible and a good communicator.
