A short interval – but hopefully not for too long…

We may be in lockdown, but it’s not yet curtains for The Elgiva!

As we are sure you know, the lockdown means that the theatre must stay closed. All our shows and events scheduled to happen before the Government’s latest indications of reopening (17th May) are currently being moved or cancelled, and we will be contacting all ticket holders in due course.

As some of the staff have been furloughed, we ask for your continued patience – once we know what is happening to a show or film (which can involve prolonged correspondence about dates, &c), we will contact the affected customers.

There is always plenty to get on with at the theatre, so although we can’t welcome you through our doors, we are still serving our customers online, undergoing training and reviewing and improving our procedures. Our technical crew are ensuring the building is maintained and kept safe, ready for when we reopen. We also have upcoming seasons to plan and a few exciting developments to work on – more on those in the months to come.

We are so grateful for the continued support of our customers and community and it is hard for us to be away from the theatre, but we are aware that safety must come first. We very much look forward to the times we can be together again, enjoying the very best of the performing arts, as well as the dazzling array of local talent that is on offer.
