Introducing Madeleine Fletcher and saying “Hello, Animals!”

Madeleine has lived in the area for most of her life and has been exhibiting locally for many years. She was the founder of the drop in Chesham Healing Centre at The Sun House, Church St and also one of the founder members of the pop up shop ARTWORKS, that opened in the High Street for the duration of twelve months seven years ago.

Madeleine writes and illustrates children’s books. She has also taught children’s art workshops for Chesham Museum’s Education Group and local libraries.

During the first lockdown Madeleine decided to take part in a challenge set by the group, Beechwood Artists, to paint a picture every day during April.

    Hello Animals exhibition

Twenty of those original animal paintings plus prints are being exhibited at The Elgiva during the month of October.

Accompanying them is the book Hello Animals which is full of many of the same pictures, with the addition of short little rhymes on each page for children

Madeleine Fletcher’s solo exhibition is on view in our exhibition space in the theatre foyer from 2nd to 30th October. Entry is free, and the exhibition can be viewed whenever the theatre is open to the public.
