Launching our Autumn Season – something for everyone to enjoy

Like a Rudyard Kipling poem, The Elgiva had a raft of questions when we were in lockdown… if we can reopen, if people will come, if we can do live performances…

However, when all around us were delaying their openings, we were able to reopen safely in July, thanks to the commitment and dedication of our staff and volunteers. We are incredibly grateful to our customers who supported us when we were closed, booked tickets when we reopened and followed our safety guidelines.

Lockdown has proved to be an incredibly difficult and frustrating time for theatres; with Government guidance changing daily, rules on how far apart you had to be if you were singing and pantomimes rewriting scripts to include social distancing. However, in a landscape of closures and cancellations, The Elgiva is proud to be a good news story for the performing arts, as we go from strength to strength.

The Elgiva is currently undergoing a period of maintenance and cleaning to ensure that we are ready to hit the ground running in Autumn. We will be continuing our ethos of Elgiva for Everyone, and have music, theatre and films coming your way, as well as things for the whole family to enjoy – do have a scroll down and see what we have on offer.
