The Elgiva is delighted to welcome back The Berry Lane Art Group with a new exhibition.
Berry Lane Art classes are held in the Rickmansworth and Croxley Green areas in Hertfordshire. These informal and relaxed classes are programmed to encourage the pupil to find a medium that they are comfortable with. The classes also encourage pupils to experiment with new materials to explore different areas of art that they may not have considered before. Help is given to improve painting techniques and drawing skills.
The Berry Lane Art Group was started in September 2009 by Gillian Blair and Frances Black. Gillian with her illustrative background, and Frances, with her graphic design background, offer diverse advice from their different disciplines. “We aim to provide art classes for all abilities, and share our passion for being creative.”
Through encouragement and tuition the members of Berry Lane Art Goup have produced some beautiful work and continue to do so.
About the artists featured here:
Tricia Dent:
‘Scenes that reflect the everyday – mostly people, pets and still life inspire me to paint. I love to paint with a lot of colour and convey the light where possible. I have always had an interest in art and my favourite genre is impressionist art.’
Sara Whitehead:
‘I have always loved being creative in all forms, enjoyed colour, texture and form. My favourite part of the week is going to Berry Lane art sessions to practice, learn new techniques and find being in a group makes me more productive. I have a background in weaving and love patterns and textiles, so I tend to lean towards landscapes more than portraits.’
