Finding us
Our address is The Elgiva, St Mary’s Way, Chesham, HP5 1HR. Based in the heart of Chesham we are minutes away from Chesham Underground Station (on the end of the Metropolitan Line), shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants.

Our nearest car park is the Albany, which has 66 spaces, three disabled parking bays and two bays in this location reserved for use by electric vehicles whilst charging only. This council-operated car park is Pay & Display, and parking charges apply Monday – Saturday 7.30am – 6.00pm. Parking is free on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Various buses stop near The Elgiva on Broad Street and on the High Street. Timetables are available from Arriva and Carousel.

Opening times
In person or on the phone: Monday – Saturday 10.30am – 3pm. The Theatre and Bar open an hour before the performance begins and the Bar is also open during the interval if there is one. The Box Office is open for in-person queries and bookings in the hour before the performance start, but during busy times, staff will give priority to bookings associated with that day’s performance.
Collecting tickets
Tickets will be issued as e-tickets wherever possible – please remember to check your spam/junk folder!
However, if you have already collected printed tickets, please remember to bring them with you to the performance. E-tickets can simply be shown on your smartphone when entering the auditorium.
Lost or forgotten tickets can be reprinted at a charge of £1.50.
Your performance
All performances start at the time on your ticket and booking confirmation, so please be in your seat in good time. Ushers will be available to help you find your seat. We will make announcements to remind you of the starting time before the performance and of re-commencement time during the interval.
The Bar & Kiosk
The Elgiva bar sells a range of wine, spirits, beers and soft drinks as well as snacks. Drinks can be taken into the auditorium, but please use the plastic glasses provided. We are delighted to offer delicious Criterion ice cream in a range of flavours on sale in our Kiosk and inside the auditorium. Coats, umbrellas, luggage and other items can be left in the Kiosk at a cost of £1 per item.
Café Encore
The café is open 10.30am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday and sells a wide range of home-cooked meals, snacks and cakes, from breakfast to brunch through to lunch. Organic and Fairtrade coffee and tea are served. All available to eat in or take away.
Wifi
We have free wifi available about throughout the building – the password is displayed on the wall next to the Kiosk.
Accessibility
There is an infra-red induction loop system in the theatre – please ask at the Box Office for a headset.
There is level access to the front of and throughout the building and a disabled toilet facility. Rows A-E are level access, but Rows F onward are reached via stairs. Wheelchair spaces are booked in advance, so please let us know ASAP if your accessibility requirements change.

Other info
Latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance, so as to minimise disruption to other patrons. The Elgiva Theatre reserves the right to provide alternative seats to those specified on the ticket in exceptional circumstances.
The taking of photographs, the use of mobile phones and mobile devices and the making of any recordings of any performance is strictly prohibited unless otherwise specified.
By purchasing a ticket, you consent to be photographed or filmed as part of a group. Strobe lighting, smoke effects, loud bangs, gunshots, loud sound effects and smoking are sometimes used in Elgiva Theatre productions.
The Elgiva has a no smoking policy throughout the building. This includes e-cigarettes. The Elgiva Theatre reserves the right to refuse admission to the Elgiva Theatre and site.

Finding your seat
For seat numbers between 1-11 it’s easiest to use the doors next to the bar.
For seats 12-26 use the doors next to the box office.
Rows A-D are the stalls, rows E-N are in the tiered seating section.
There’s space for up to four wheelchairs between the tiered seating and the stalls.

Journey to your seat
You move through the foyer starting at the box office and ending at the café bar.
Toilets are on your right accessed through a door in the big curved wall.
The doors to the auditorium are at either end of the curved wall.
