Nigeria, 1993: Kid brothers Remi (Chibuike Marvelous Egbo) and Akin (Godwin Chimerie Egbo) get to spend an unexpected gift of a day with their estranged father Folarin (Sope Dirisu).
Together, they voyage into Lagos for the first time, the boys taking in both the colossal city and the hoops Folarin must go through to get them there.
He is on a mission, and his chances of success are threatened by the unfolding presidential election – the first since the military takeover 10 years previously – and the chaos he fears will follow.
Moving through various frustrations and delays, the boys get to know their father on what becomes an increasingly significant and affecting emotional journey.
