Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful woman, Odette, he is enraptured. But she is under a spell that holds her captive, allowing her to regain her human form only at night.

Von Rothbart, arbiter of Odette’s curse, tricks the Prince into declaring his love for the identical Odile and thus breaking his vow to Odette. Doomed to remain a swan forever, Odette has but one way to break the sorcerer’s spell.

Captured live at The Royal Opera House, the performance lasts about 3 hours, including two intervals.

By train Chesham Underground on the Metropolitan Line is a six minute walk away. Leave the car behind and enjoy a drink at the bar or a meal in one of Chesham’s restaurants, pubs, bars and cafés.

Amersham is just eleven minutes away on the 1A bus, or (about) a £12 cab ride away.

By car

Coming by car’s fine too… Albany Place pay and display car park is next door to the theatre, with three disabled spaces and two electric car charging points.
