    Have you ever…

…noticed the plaque by the electric door as you come into The Elgiva?

It commemorates the opening of The Elgiva by Danny La Rue on Sunday 8th November 1998. Following the ribbon-cutting, Danny La Rue delivered a fabulous performance for our Opening Night.

The plaque also recognizes the contribution of Sainsbury’s. When the supermarket wished to develop what is now their current site, the proposed works included the space occupied by the original Elgiva Hall, and so they struck a deal to support the construction of The New Elgiva.

We’ve been happily ensconced over the road for the last 25 years, and so to celebrate our Silver Jubilee, we’ve delved into our archives from the past, digging up handbills, programmes, posters, photographs and reviews!

Why not come and take a look?
