This exhibition will showcase the variety of work and creativity of a group of artists who meet at Chesham Town Hall tutored by local artist Jay Nolan-Latchford.
From beginners to more experienced painters the group covers a wide range of subjects and use a variety of media.
“Our sessions are always fun, interesting and it’s lovely to learn some new skills in a relaxed atmosphere with like minded people.”

Jay has been an artist all of her life – her first memories are of drawing, making, painting and crafting.
After leaving school, she studied illustration at her local college followed by a Graphic Design and Printmaking degree in Brighton. Jay worked for several years as a freelance designer in London before relocating to Buckinghamshire and establishing her own design company working with Harrods, John Lewis, and Fortnum and Mason, to name a few.
In recent years, Jay has returned to her first love of painting and illustration. Her range of watercolour, ink and mixed media pieces with their bright colour palettes have proven very popular and collectible. New lines of prints and greetings cards are now available, too.
Jay is keen to pass on her skills, and having undertaken a teaching qualification, she began hosting workshops for adults several years ago. She was honoured to be awarded an ‘outstanding’ assessment from Bucks Adult Learning in her first year and now teaches several sessions a week at ‘pop-up’ venues in Bucks, Beds and Northants. Jay has developed a workshop style that both beginners and more advanced painters can enjoy and learn from.
Jay’s work can be seen at several galleries and she regularly participates in Art shows locally, across the South of England.
Jay lives and works from her houseboat on the Grand Union. She loves outdoor spaces, nature and especially the water. She is passionate about creativity for well-being and art for all, and she sits on the committee for the Visual Images Group.
