Elgiva pantomime goes down a storm with audiences

Sleeping Beauty is delighting audiences – it's time to check out some of the reviews!

This year’s pantomime Sleeping Beauty is under way at The Elgiva in Chesham – and audiences are loving it!

The Elgiva’s family-friendly, traditional pantomime stars CITV favourite Chris Edgerley as mischievous Chester the Jester. Chris is joined on stage by Elgiva regular Sean Luckham as the Dame, Queen Gertie the Gorgeous, Laura Bazely, who plays the eponymous heroine and hoping to break a few evil spells (and maybe a heart or two) is Bradlee Weatherill who is taking on the role of Prince Valiant. Nicola Blackman adds the festive glitz as Fairy Sparkle, and panto wouldn’t be panto without a baddie! Acting her evil socks off is Gemma Brodrick, who will causing mayhem and chaos as Carabosse (Boo! Hiss!). Keeping everyone on their toes is Dance Captain Amie Butler, and she’ll be kept busy as this professional production is full of songs and dances! Amie is helped in her dancing duties by a range of talented youngsters and teenagers from local dancing schools.

Theatre Manager, David Cooper, said: “This year our audiences have been more enthusiastic than ever! The superb cast are giving their all in every performance and the auditorium has been ringing with clapping and cheering, not to mention hearty audience participation! Every performance is a riot from start to finish, and Sleeping Beauty is just the ticket to get the festive season properly off with a bang!”

Berkhamsted and Tring Living Magazine describes the panto as: “Absolutely fantastic – magical and hilarious in equal measures!”

Red Kite Days Buckinghamshire said: “The cast were fantastic, so funny and were clearly having a great time … There was all the laughter, glitter and interaction that you would expect from a Pantomime … All in all a really affordable and funny Panto for every generation to enjoy.”

Audience member PW wrote to tell the theatre: “We really loved coming to the Pantomime tonight. It was full of laughter, songs and all the traditional fun. The whole family enjoyed every minute. Fab performances.”

CW told The Elgiva: “We had a great time. A production with all the traditional elements … a real family show. Good hard-working cast … Highly recommend.”

We can’t wait to do it all over again… next year!
