Taking place in October 2023, this year’s festival is packed with amazing and captivating movies, and complemented with an array of film-related events and workshops that will delight movie enthusiasts of all ages.

Friday 6th October
What better setting for the the UK box office chart-topper Bend It Like Beckham, than Chesham United’s football ground! Wave your scarves as Keira Knightley and Parminder Nagra smash stereotypes in this brilliant British comedy drama.

Tuesday 10th October
Head to The Elgiva in Chesham for a film-focused musical delight as local composers Rael Jones, Michael Price and Anne Dudley take to The Elgiva stage to showcase their compositions. A night of spellbinding music that will transport you into the dazzling world of film and television, the concert will be packed with highlights from music composed for film and TV, including Poldark, Sherlock and Mrs Harris goes to Paris.
Featuring a chamber ensemble of world-class musicians, with the award-winning composers themselves at the piano.

Thursday 12th October
Roots Café on Chesham High Street is the setting for one of the most beloved films of all time! This sizzling masterpiece by Billy Wilder set a new standard for Hollywood comedy. Platters of food will be served during the screening, with desserts to follow!
An Evening with Laurel & Hardy, presented by Neil Brand
Sunday 29th October
The Film Festival concludes with a very special event featuring the the composer and presenter Neil Brand. Acclaimed as the leading world expert on silent film and silent comedy, with his original composed music, Neil will offer a wonderful and unique insight into the touching story of the world’s greatest comedy team, who could not have been two more different men!
Fully illustrated with stills, clips (both silent and sound) and Neil’s superlative piano accompaniment and culminating in two of the Boys’ best silent short films, Big Business and Liberty, this is a show that promises gales of laughter throughout, as well as getting under the skin of two warm, funny men who continue to make the world laugh.
In addition to these, the festival will offer a diverse range of film-related events and workshops, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage with industry experts, explore various aspects of filmmaking, and gain unique insights into the world of cinema.
