I am absolutely thrilled to be working with The Elgiva to deliver exciting performing arts opportunities for our local community.
As a parent and Governor of a local school, I am passionate about providing opportunities for young people to thrive, and for me, providing a creative outlet for young people to express themselves and have an opportunity to shine is a huge part of that.
I have been involved in the theatre my whole life: Born to theatrical parents, first performed on stage at the age of seven, and since finishing Drama and Theatre Studies qualifications, I have worked for the family drama club, where we provide weekly clubs and spectacular summer shows for young people aged 6 to 18. Still performing myself, my latest role was in January 2022 as Prince Frederick in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
I’m sure like many children, I never appreciated how lucky I was to have opportunities to act, sing and perform from a young age. But now, as a teacher, I see it; as I watch in wonder at the transformation that happens to young people as they experience the magic of the theatre – exploring different characters, improvisation, performance, team building, story-telling and working with others to develop creative ideas. It is a joy that I just want to share. And I am delighted to be bringing that magic of the theatre to the young people of Chesham and the surrounding areas.
