The Chiltern Arts Festival strives to bring the highest quality classical music out of London and into the Chilterns.
We are delighted to be hosting three terrific events for them as part of their 2023 season.

Time In Your Hands: Dr James Nye
Dr James Nye, 2022 Master of Worshipful Company of Clockmakers, is an historian of the measurement of time, and uncovers the stories told by clocks and watches, in his research, writing and lecturing, or when guiding in museums.

The Red Violin – film screening
Directed by François Girard, starring Samuel L Jackson, Carlo Cecchi and Sylvia Chang, and featuring Joshua Bell as soloist on the soundtrack, this 1998 drama traces the intricate journey of a unique, red-hued violin, the creation of a master craftsman in Cremona, Italy, in 1681.

The Red Violin Caprices: Edward Walton
BBC Young Musician of the Year Strings Finalist Edward Walton joins one of today’s most versatile classical pianists, John Lenehan, to present a beautiful late-night recital programme including John Corigliano’s The Red Violin Caprices, derived from the composer’s own soundtrack to François Girard’s film.
Featuring Saint-Saëns, Bach, Corigliano and Wieniawski.
