Selling affordable art on the Chesham High Street, The Good Earth Gallery is part of Hawkes Design, which writes, designs, publishes and sells local books and guides.
As well as some fabulous local art, The Good Earth Gallery also offers picture framing.
Owner Peter Hawkes was born in Chesham in a great year for England: 1966! After a spell in London he returned to set up the business in 1994. His family has lived and worked in Chesham as shopkeepers for many centuries.
Hawkes Design was established in 1990 and has always served the town of Chesham, producing Chesham Town Talk magazine for 20 years, The Elgiva’s What’s On brochure for 23 years and the Chesham Town Guide for 7 years so far.
“We love the history and people of Chesham,” says Peter who has written numerous books about the town, and now enjoys serving today’s community with The Good Earth art gallery.
