Friday 3rd May TO MONDAY 3rd June

    10.30aM – 3PM

Alison Berthelsen is a local artist who has had creative jobs all her life. Beginning in window display and visual merchandising for large West End department stores, including Liberty, Regent Street. You may be aware of her as an independent bespoke jeweller, although her talents have evolved into a passion for water colours.

A prolific swimmer at Chesham Moor pool, she began painting the pool and surroundings during the long dark lockdown in 2021, as she missed it so much.

Never expecting it to become quite the passion project it has, Alison has so far produced 17 in the Moor Pool Series all shown in this exhibition, with more to come.

She has also designed the new Chesham Moor pool swim hat, which many of the pool’s swimmers currently sport. And not just in Chesham. Indeed, the hat has been pictured all over the world including recently in far flung places such as Noosa in Australia.

Her work can be purchased through the front desk at The Elgiva for the duration of the exhibition and is on permanent display at the Chesham Moor pool.

Pieces can be also be found at The Good Earth Gallery in Chesham and A Little Bird Gallery in Wendover and her entire jewellery and painting collections are available from her website.

If you would like to meet her and see her at work, Alison also takes part in the wonderful Bucks Art Weeks every June where she shows her work along with other local creators from her local workshop.
